The presented chart illustrates how much fruit was produced in 4 different nations namely Spain, Turkey, Germany, and France between 1970 and 2010.
Overall, there was an increasing trend in the amount of fruit production in France and Turkey, with the most significant growth seen in France. Meanwhile, the opposite was true for Spain and Turkey. Additionally, the figure for Spanish manufactured fruit always stood at the highest point throughout the period.
The amount of fruit offered by Spain started at over 5,5 million tonnes, after which it experienced a slight growth to reach the peak of over 6 million tonnes in 1980 before ending the period by gradually dropping to just approximately 5 million tonnes. By contrast, fruit yield in Germany declined stably from 2,5 million tonnes in 1970 to the lowest position in 1990 with only 1.5 million tonnes and remained unchanged from 1990 onwards.
In 1970, France produced over 1 million tonnes of fruit, the lowest among the four nations, but then significantly increased, surpassing Spain to become the third-largest producer with almost 3 million tonnes by 2000. Similarly, fruit production in Turkey started at 2 million tonnes in the early years and steadily rose to 3.5 million tonnes by 2010.
