The line chart gives information about the number of fruits produced in four European countries between 1970 and 2010. Overall, while the figure for both Turkey and France experienced an increase, the reverse was true for Spain and Germany.
Focusing on France and Turkey first, both countries saw a considerable rise during the period in question. The figure for France started at 1,2 in 1970 and grew steadily to 2,2 by 1990. Moreover, in the next decade it decreased slightly to 1,8. After 2000, the production volume showed significant growth and reached 2,8 in the final year. As for Turkey, the quantity of fruit production in 1970 was almost at 2. Then the number increased consistently to 2,8, after which it started to rise a bit faster by the end of the period.
On the other hand, Spain and Germany showed a slight decline in the amount of fruit production from 1970 to 2010. Starting at 5,6 in 1970 Spain’s production experienced consistent growth to 6,1 in 1980 and then felt continuously to 5,1 by 2010. As for Germany, the country’s production was at 2,5 at the beginning of the period. Then the number decreased steadily to 1,5 in 1990, after which the figure leveled off in the next decade. Finally, in the last ten years the quantity of fruit production showed a negligible fall to 1,3.
