The line chart shows the number of deaths caused by terrorist attacks in three countries namely Iraq, Nigeria, and Afghanistan between 2011 and 2015. The three countries are indicated by three colors: blue for Afghanistan, red for Iraq, and green for Nigeria.
Overall, the number of deaths due to terrorism in Afghanistan has continuously increased for the past 3 years while Iraq and Nigeria have shown a drop for the past 1 year. Moreover, in 2011 the number of deaths in all three countries was nearly the same.
In the year 2012, all three countries showed a downfall in the number of deaths, while in 2013 the death rate in Iraq was approximately two times the death rate in Afghanistan (6200 for Iraq and 3000 for Afghanistan). The trend continued in the year 2014.
While Nigeria reported more deaths than Afghanistan in the years 2013 and 2014, in 2015 the death rate came down and the number was less than that of Afghanistan (5200 for Afghanistan and 4900 for Nigeria). In conclusion, it could be said that if the current trend continues then there would be a time where the death rate in Afghanistan will surpass that of Iraq.
