The bar chart compares the proportions of people attending cinemas in a partucular European country on various days, in 2003, 2005, and 2007.
Overall, Saturday was the most preferred day of the week to go to cinemas in all three timeframes, followed by Sunday. By contrast, Monday and Wednesday were amongst the least chosen days for this activity. Notably, the figures for Friday remained unchanged in all three years.
Regarding Saturday, despite declining slightly in the last year, it remained the most preferred day to attend cinemas. In 2003, the figure for this day stood at 40% of people going to cinemas, which increased markedly to 45% in 2005, prior to declining to about 43% in 2007. Similarly, Sunday and Monday followed the same pattern, but accounting for lesser percentages. The statistics for the former initially increased from 30% in 2003 to just below 40% in 2005, followed by a decline to roughly 32% in 2007. The figures for Monday, meanwhile, increased from 10% in 2003 to just under 15% in 2005. This then merely decreased to 13% in 2007.
Friday, on the other hand, demonstrated a completely different picture. The percentage rates for it recorded 30% in 2003, where it remained stable until 2007. Tuesday, however, followed a downward trend. It initially slightly dipped from 20% in 2003 to 17%, after which it recovered to nearly 18% in 2007. A similar trend could be observed in the figures for Thursday, which first decreased from about 17% to almost 14% in 2005, before rebounding to just under 20% in 2007. In contrast, Wednesday declined continuously. In 2003, its statistics registered just above 15%, which decreased slightly to approximately 14%, followed by a further fall to roughly 9% in 2007.
