It is evident that road transport remained the most frequently used mode, while pipeline consistently served as the least popular method. Despite fluctuations, rail transport experienced, the other three modes exhibited a mirrored upward trajectory over time.
Upon closer examination of the data, road transport gradually rose from 70 million tonnes to approximately 100 million tonnes. In contrast, water transport plateaued around 55 million tonnes from 1980 to 1998 but witnessed a dramatic rise to 65 million tonnes in the last four years. It is also noteworthy thatrrail transport plummeted to 25 million tonnes in 1994 but recovered to its 1974 level by 2002. Pipeline transport saw a permanent tenfold ascent throughout the period.
