The chart illustrates the consumption of water per individual in four different American cities, recorded across the last 5 months in the year of 2000. Overall, it is noticeable that New York citizens used the highest amount of water throughout the period, followed by Miami and Seattle, whereas the latter overtook the former.
Looking in more detail, New York recorded stable figures until the end of year, which was ranged between 28-275 gallons per person. This means that despite a slight decrease at the end, New York remained at the top of the list. This figure was followed closely by Miami, with approximately 278 gallons in August which experienced volatility until it reached its lowest at under 260 gallons.
In contrast to Miami’s decline in numbers, Seattle that started relatively low at around 235 gallons skyrocketed to its peak at 275 gallons in December, similar to New York. Lastly, Atlanta experienced an increase in water use by around 25 gallons to 240 gallons, although it stayed much lowe than that of other cities.
