Overall, adults aging from 35-54 accounted for the highest proportion despite slight decrease over the year. Other remaining categories had seen an upward trends, except for adults ranging from 25 to 30’s figure.
In 1983, British visiting Spain were mostly adults over 25 years old. People ranging from 25-34 accounted for 51% which was overwhelmingly high compared to other categories. Older people, including those from 35 to 54 and over 55, were 20% and 15% respectively. Meanwhile, young generation from 16 to 24 age accounted for only 4%.
In 2003, tourist’s ages were more evenly distributed. Although elders were still considerably high, young people’s share which was over 16 and under 24 years old had tripled compared to that of the past. Individuals aging from 34 to 54 remained the highest share, despite moderate decrease from 51% to 35%.
