Overall, the total and the commencing numbers show an increasing trend over the given period for foreign pupils. Enrolled total domestic students has a rising pattern; whereas commencing pupils depict a steady pattern.

In 2001, the total number of foreign scholars stood at 20000 and the commencing number was approximately 10000. While it was clear that, both have a positive development, commencing number was always below the total number of students.

With regards to the domestic scholars, the total value was started at 400000 in 2001 and increased to 60000 in 2007. Thereafter, the value was stagnated till 2010. The commencing number for the local students started slightly below 20000 and it has a slight fluctuations over the period of 10 years. However, the highest was recorded at just above 20000.
