The graphs illustrate the amount for total medals won by the most winners countries in the summer and winter Olympics.
Overall, the most noticeable trend is accounted for three countries that each one is present in both summer and winter Olympics. These countries are: United States, Germany and Russia.
Winter Olympics are dominated by Norway which won more than 350 medals, followed by Unites States which is a bit far from the first place, however, still obtained just more than 300 olympics medals. Germany accounts for the third place with its almost 250 medals. The last two placed are occuped by Russia and Canada. Although, the latter has more medals than the former, golden medals outweigh silver’s ones that is because Russia is in the 4th place in the historical ranking.
In the Winter edition, United States dominated with 2’500 medals approximately. Russia is placed in the second position near to the third one accounted for Germany. The last two position are represented by Great Britain and France.
For the countries which are sharing the presence in both summer and winter edition, the graphs show that United States has obtained more medals by far than Germany and Russia in a global count (2’800 medals). Finally, Germany won the same olympics medals as Russia so they are struggling the second place in this special table.
