The first line chart illustrates the figures of rural, urban, and total population between 1950 and 2040, while second line graph compares the numbers of three distinct age groups – under 15, between 15-65, and over 65 – in the same period.
Overall, it is evident that urban population was the highest over the whole timeframe, while rural population remained relatively stable with slight movements. Additionally, those aged between 15 and 65 topped the second graph throughout the period whereas the reverse was true for the numbers for those aged under 15 and those aged over 65, which increased slowly and followed by the similar trend starting from 1970.
In 1950, urban population was the predominant figure, accounting for around 7, followed by countryside population, which represented about 5. Moreover, total population were comprised roughly 10. Furthermore, the figure of urban population experienced a consistent rise, peaking at 38 by the end of the period. Conversely, the number of rural population stayed almost stable, at 8 in 2040. Total population witnessed an overall growth, reaching about 43.
In terms of age categories, in 1950, the figure of those aged between 15-65 led the chart, at around 5, followed by those aged under 15 and over 65, which saw an equal figure, making up 3. Between 1950 and 1970, the numbers for those aged under 15 and over 65 underwent opposite fluctuations, before showing a similar trend until the end of the period, with a slow climb to 5 in 2040. By contrast, starting from 1960, the figure for those aged between 15-65 displayed a significant jump, peaking at 35 by the end of the timeframe.
