The pie charts show the percentage of students on one adult education center taking several cources in 1985 and this year. The courses mentioned in the 1985 chart are art, modern languages, fitness and dance, cookery, music appreciation and local history. Local history and music appreciation have been left out in this year’s chart and they have been replaced by IT.
Starting with art, it accounted for 17% of the percentage in 1985 but it has had a slight decrement and sits at 15% this year. Modern languages was the most popular course in 1985 with 24% but has downgraded this year to a 17%. Fitness and dance has the same percentage in both years(22%) and it was the second-most choosen subject in both graphs. The only course that became more popular this year than in 1985 is cookery and as depicted in the charts, it went from 14% to 19%.
The unique subjects in 1985, local history and music appreciation, also held some popularity having 15% and 8% respectively. This year, IT had the highest percentage(27) which makes it the most learnt lesson from all the subjects.
In conclusion, adults are getting more into technology nowadays and classes like music and history are not as preffered as they were. Only cookery has had more preferance this year than 1985 while modern languages and art have fallen of a little with cooking staying the same percentage.
