The diagram outlines the lifecycle of a frog.
Overall, The cycle lasts for about 3 up to 5 years, categorized into four main stages. During this span, eggs develop into tadpoles and eventually transform into frogs, feeding on different types of food in different environments.
The first stage starts when eggs are laid on the surface of shallow waters, being protected with jelly-like coating. This stage takes approximately 5-21 days long in the ponds or lake, during which the eggs hatch and turn into tadpoles. In the second stage, the tadpole spends 5-9 weeks feeding on algae and small plants. It both looks and moves like a fish in the initial period, but then the tadpole undergoes significant bodily changes into a froglet , with the addition of firstly rear legs and then front legs between the third and sixth weeks. In the following stage, the froglets develop lun
gs and able to jump, but still stay with the same diet. The stage lasts three months, making the froglet more similar to adult frogs.
The final stage of this process, which is the longest one, takes place on both land and small water areas where the frogs continue to grow until they reach maturity, losing their tails. During 2-4 years, they feed on insects and small animals shifting from a plant-based diet. Finally they return to the water to spawn eggs and the cycle recurs.
