The line chart illustrates the changes in the proportion of female members of parliament in 5 European countries between 2000 to 2012.
Overall, it is clear that there was increase in the proportion of female members of parliament in Germany, Italy, the France, the UK and Belgium.In addition Germany showed highest percentage over 12 decades while the UK had lowest.
In Germany there was 34% in 2000.However, after 12 years it has illustrate that it’s 35%.It was not a big change.In Italy and in France similar changes.In Italy it was 26%in 2000, In France 25% which is not a big change.However, in 2004 France dramatically increased by 36% , which we can see the highest of all countries in this year, but after 4 years it is decreased by 29% and in 2012 it was 31%.In Italy the percentage of female representation only increased over 12 years and it showed the highest proportion in 2012.
Belgium started with around 18% of female members in parliament in 1 year, it was increased by 24% in the final year.Th UK similar change with the percentage of female members rising.Considerably from 4% in 2000 to 24% in 2012.
