The provided line graph illustrates the amount of three varieties of fast food consumed in the United Kingdom from 1970 to 1990 with the survey spread at intervals of 5 years.
Overall, it is evident that while the consumption of pizza experienced a decline, hamburger and fish and chips saw a rise over the timeframe.
To begin with, in 1990, pizza was by far, the most popular fast food with just over 300 grams consumed. Next to it, is fish and chips (80 grams), and lastly hamburger (30 grams). In the course of the following years, the orderings of these delicacies were modified. Notedly, the consumption of pizza, the predominant option in 1970, took a modest decline to about 210 grams, fluctuated through the next decade, remaining 210 grams in 1990.
In contrast, the consumption of the other two fast food types increased over the next two decades, particularly that of fish and chips. Hamburger’s consumption stood at 30 in 1970 and rose slowly until 1985 when it surged upwards, surpassing that of pizza before 1990. It ended the survey with almost 300 grams in order. Finally, fish and chips followed almost a similar trend with hamburgers. However, its consumption overtook that of pizza earlier, after 1980. Also, its precipitous growth was established in 1980, and by 1990, became the most popular choice at 500 grams consumed.
