Overall, the paper production in Malaysia increased significantly over the sixteen-year period, while production in Norwary declined. It can also be seen, the figure for USA consistencenly peaked throughout the period.
In 2001, USA produced nearly 240 million tones of paper which rose gradually over the period of 12 years, peaking at almost 330 million tones in 2013, before declining slightly to 300 million tones in 2017. The paper production in Malaysia gradually climbed from over 100 million tones in 2001 to 250 million tones in the final year.
In contrast, the production in Norway continued to decline over the years before falling to the lowest figure of 100 million tones in 2017. The production in Spain rose slightly from about 70 million tones, peaking at just over 110 million tones in the final year recorded. Meanwhile, Thailand remained stable for the last 18 years at 200 million tones.
