The line chart depicts the amount of packages delivered by two mail distributor companies from 1920 to 2000. Overall, in the beginning, TNT’s service fluctuated and showed a significant jump at the end of the period, while the other illustrated the reverse.
Initially, the majority of people preferred to have packages delivered by FedEx, leveling off at 15,000, making it higher than its counterpart and almost three times as much. In 1940, interest in using FedEx grew significantly, reaching a high number just below 25,000 before declining sharply after a decade to around 15,000. Although TNT’s figures remained at the same level, they jumped to well above 10,000 in 1950.
In 1990, both FedEx and TNT experienced a considerable increase, reaching the same amount. Finally, the number of individuals who used TNT was slightly higher, standing at nearly 25,000, more than 5,000 above FedEx, maintaining its 1940 level.
