The line graph compares how many people visited to particular region for three different purposes – business, holiday, and meeting friends and relatives – measured in millions over twenty-year period between 1989 and 2009.
Overall, the number of visitors for all three type of purposes increased significantly from 1989 and 2009. At the end of the period the number of people who visited for holiday outperfored all others.
In 1989, the number of people visited for holiday was 6,500,000 and remained stable until 1991. Then it reported significant growth by 2,5 million and reached its peak.
Although, there were noticeable ups and downs in this category from 1992 and 2009, at the end of the period it topped the list with its peak – 9,000,000 people.
In 1989, the number of people who visited for business occupied the middle range, neither too high nor too low with 5 million people, while the figure for meeting friends and relatives was at the bottom of the chart with 3.5 million people. Until 2000 , there were sharp rises both in business and in meeting friends and relatives categories by 1.5 and 2 million respectively. The they followed to the same upward trajectory in different levels. At the end of the period the figure for business was 7 million people, while the figure for meeting friends and relatives was 6,000,000 people.
