The line graph compares the average number of hours Urakian youngsters spent on four selected free time activities per week, namely TV, Social media, Sports and Reading, between 2000 and 2015.
Overall, it is clear that Social media activity hours per week rose dramatically after experiencing a decline. Moreover, it eventually overtook the remaining three activities. Also, TV showed a drop considerably and then levelled off whereas Reading hours remained unchanged throughout the period.
In 2000, Urakian teenagers spend about 1 hour per week in free time activities using Social media rose gradually at the same figure of Reading 3 hours in 2010 whereas reading remained at a similar level over the period given. In addition, Social media eventually surpassed the TV hours in 2014 then reached at the same figure of sports at 5 hours per week in 2016. After that, it hit a high approximately 11 hours per week in 2020.
Sports activities recorded 6 hours per week in the beginning of the period as 2000. While it levelled off at 7 hours per week from 2005 to 2010 then it decline gradually at 4 in 2020. TV recorded the highest hours as 8 in the beginning and then fell sharply untill 2015 and remained unchanged by the end of the period.
