The line graph illustrates changes in the number of people travelling to a Caryl island between 2000 and 2008, separating those who travelled for the first-time from those who visited for the second time.
Overall, it is evident that the figures for both types of travelers increased markedly across the period. Although returning visitors accounted for the large share for most years.
At the beginning of the period, the number of first-time visitors stood at around 8000, whereas returning visitors represent the smallest figures, at approximately 3000. Between 2000 and 2002, the number of returning visitors rose substantially to around 10000. By 2001, the number of first-time visitors had surpassed that of returning visitors with a marginal decrease to 4000.
After 2002, the pattern shifted considerably. The number of returning visitors surged significantly, climbing from 10000 in 2002 to roughly 15000 in 2006. Moreover, the figure of first time visitors soared to almost 12000 in 2008. In contrast, there was a downward trend in the number of returning visitors for most of the remaining period.
