The line graph illustrates the number of international visitors who came to UK for different reasons(holiday, business and to visit friends or relatives) over the years 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009.
Overall, whole three purposes showed fluctuations. Visiters that came for holiday was showed generally a higher trend, and visiters who came to see their friends and relatives was the lowest. All of the three reasons visiters increased in number at the end of 2009.
Both holiday and friends or relatives visiters increased between 1989 and 1994, to 6.2 to 6.5 and to 3.8 to 4.0 respectively. While international visiters who came for business decreased to 4.0 from 4,6— coming to the same level with visiters who came to see friends or relatives. From 1994 to 1999 both business and visiters who came to see friedns or relatives showed an upward trend, meanwhile visiters who came for holiday showed some fluctuations.
Between 1999 and 2004, visiters who came to see friends or relatives and holiday visits decreased while business visits keep increasing. The whole tree reasons came to a similar number, which is approximately 6.8, 6.5, 6.5 respectively. At the end, in 2009, holiday visits hit 8.5, while other two purposes decreased. Business visits came to 6.5 million and visiters who came to see friends or relatives were just above 6.0.
