The line graph illustrates the proportion of the population in New Zealand in a century between 1950 and 2050.
Overall, people in the age of 0 to 14 years old and 38 to 45 years old recorded an upward trend, while the remaining groups experienced the opposite. In details, the elderly was and will be the primary age group in this nation in the whole period.
Regarding the increasing group, the adolescents and teenagers under 15 years old started at the lowest point, consituting a minor fraction, before ascending slightly until 1990. After that, it gradually grow and will reach its peak in 2050, which was two times as the starting point. The people whose age from the mid 20s to late mid 30s experience a slight surge in the first 40 years and then suddenly dropped to 40% in the next 2 years, before remaining relatively stable in the following 20 years and in the future.
Concerning the other groups, the elderly over 65 years began at the highest point in the surveyed period, then it exhibited a slight increase of 10% and sudden ascended in the next decade, before consitently decline in the last years. Moreover, the remaining group had a fluctuation in the first 4 decades and dramatically declined in the end. It is predicted that this group will be disappeared in 2050.
