According to the data given from this graph,car hijacking was a pretty relevant crime problem among developed countries,dating from 1990’s,to the end of decade.
From the given information,the amount of car theft crimes in Great Britain was the most frequent among countries of Canada,Sweden and France, reaching a bottom of 17,and peaking at the rate of 21 crimes per 1000 cars.In comparison,the peak of car thefts frequency was set to be 15, among those left 3 countries.
At the year of 1991, all countries with an exception of UK had a similar level of transport crime, reaching about 7-8.The change in the trends between Canada,Sweden and France occured at the very start of year 1995.Sweden, unlike France and Canada,whom were much more stable for a whole decade,started suffering from the sudden jump in the regularity of car stealing, as twice as before.The peak of this escalation can be observed at the end of the 1999,reaching approximately 15 crimes per 1000 cars.In comparison,Sweden had a rate of 6 cars stolen among 1000 at the start of 90’s.
