The diagrams illustrate the center of a small town named Islip as it is now and its development plans.
Overall, It is visible from the diagrams that the town center is going to experience a massive change in its layout through its proposed development activities. Specially, a circuitous duel carriageway is going to be built and the main road will be dedicated for pedestrians only. Through the development process the countryside will be disappeared.
At present, the main road is surrounded by shops and the Country side is located at the northern part of town, just above the shops. The park is situated at the southeastern part and connected with main road. The school is placed at southwestern side near housing and also connected with main road.
The proposed development plan is going to absorb the countryside along with shops above main road and will transform this area into a bus station at the left, shopping center and car parking in the middle and a new housing at the right side of the center. The size of the park will be dwindled and a new housing will be built at the left side of it. Interestingly, these entire infrastructures will be surrounded by a dual carriageway to facilitated effective roaming. The school and old housing will be at the same place as it is now.
