The given maps illustrate how the village of Ryemouth has developed from 1995 to the present.
Overall, it can be seen from maps that Ryemouth town has become a more residential zone in a certain span of time. It is interesting to note that although the green area of the town has decreased, sport facilities have been constructed, and accommodation has increased over the 30-year period.
Looking at the map in more detail, in 1995, there was a fishing port and fish markets in the south of the town, while there were shops on the north side of the road that was run near the sea. However, shops converted into restaurants and fish markets were redeveloped into apartments, whereas the fishing port was demolished. Over the period, the hotel and café that were on the east of the road remained constant, however the car park was developed near the hotel.
By 2025, the number of accommodations that were on the left and right sides of the road that runs from the north to east increased, while the street that was connected to the housing was shortened. Additionally, the farmland and the forest park were demolished, and golf and tennis facilities were developed, although the area was reduced.
