The diagram illustrates how the village park has transformed over the past ten years.
Overall, the village park has undergone several significant changes, including the introduction of a range of recreational facilities and the improvement to road infrastructure. These changes have aimed to cater to the more diverse demands of visitors and improve the park’s accessibility.
Ten years ago, an entrance was situated in the top-left corner of the park, directly opposite a 20-car capacity car park on its left-hand side. The northern part of the park was occupied by two tennis courts, with a large children’s play area located immediately to their right. The central area of the park was taken up by a square football pitch, with a small pond positioned to the southwest. Finally, woods were located in the bottom right-hand corner of the park.
Currently, the entrance still remains unchanged, while a new cycle path has been added around the outer boundary of the park. Additionally, the car park has been upgraded to accommodate up to 50 cars. In the northern section, the tennis courts have undergone an expansion to 4 courts. Adjacent to them the children’s play area was reduced in size to make room for a new children’s soft play area and public toilets. In the central region, the football pitch in the central area has been narrowed, while the original pond has been replaced by a boating lake. The former woods in the bottom right-hand corner have been cleared, making a way for a cafe. Meanwhile, a picnic area has been introduced in the southeast area.
