The maps give information about the way in which the beachfront area in Australia has undergone transformations from 1950 until present.
Overall, it is clear that there have been several changes in the layout of the beachfront with the most noticeable being the addition of amenities, as well as the expansion of the street.
In 1950, in front of the beach, one could immediately see two swimming pools which is 25 meters in size , lying on either side of the beach. In the Northwest, there was some dining tables which were between a playground and a pavilion. Beyond these infrastructures, the street was last to the car park, which is near the pavilion. To the East of the beach, a lighthouse was situated.
After the redevelopment, the swimming pool which is situated to the left of the beach has been enlarged to 50m, and to the left of it was the introduction of a restaurant, adjacent to a surf club. Opposite the latter was another surf club. The playground has made way for a new car park + location?. The street has been lengthened more than in the past which leads to the lighthouse.
