The picture shows the present map of Norbiton industrial area and its future development plan. By looking at the first glance, it is apparent that the scheme is intended to transform Norbiton into the urban domain with residences and public facilities. A substantial expansion in the north and west side is bound to happen with the plan.
Currently, the main road in the south is straight with a T-junction leading to the central point, marked by a roundabout. Seven industrial blocks are scattered along the driveway, including that from the east connected to the centre.
The idea is to turn it into living areas, where two adjunct housing streets will line up in the northwest and the north, therefore the latter will use a part of the farmland. A bridge will be constructed to connect the northern inhabitants to the centre, where shopping centres and healthcare facilities will be built. The existing eastern road will undergo similar accommodation arrangement in either sides of the road, with the addition of playground on the north surrounded by two housing complexes and school towards the end of the road, in the east side.
