The map illustrate changes in the Spanish city of Castellon in recent years Overall, the city of Castellon has become more accessible, commercial, and entertaining at the expense of green areas and previously unoccupied lands while the university remained unchanged.
Access to Castellon has improved significantly over the years. The road across the city, which was previously used by cars, has become pedestrianized, and a bike rental scheme has been introduced in the city center. The train station was relocated to the space between the university and the city center, making way for a new police station, while tramline now connects the university to the center. The airport which is currently under construction is expected to connect the city to other regions.
The city also offers a wider range of shopping options. The old market to the left of the city center has been replaced by a new shop, and a new covered market has been built to the right. The new shopping center has also been constructed in the northeast, in a place previously occupied by trees. Changes in terms of entertainment mainly occurred in the port area. The place that was once empty now holds a cinema, bars, and clubs for the enjoyment of residents. The university remains in its original position; however, a hall of residence has been added to its left for students to stay.
