The map below displays the changes in the Spanish city of Castellon in 2000 and the present day.
Overall, the city of Castellon has become more populated thanks to new construction on previously vacant land. The university is the only building that has remained the same.
Castellon has undergone significant changes. The central street, originally for cars, has been converted to a pedestrian street, and a bike rental scheme has been implemented in the city centre. The train station has been relocated between the university and the city centre, and the train station has been converted into a police station. A tram line has been built to connect the university with the city center. Finally, the airport, currently under construction, and several other sites have been newly built.
The city also has many new places for shopping. The old market in the left corner of the city has been converted into a new shop, and a new market is constructed in the right corner. A new shopping centre has been built in the northest in an area that was previously only trees.
The university remains in its original location, and a dormitory has been added to the northwest. Across the street from downtown is the port area. This once deserted area now has a cinema, bars and clubs that have been built to serve as entertainment venues for residents.
