The first map depicts the current layout of Islip’s town center, while the second map illustrates the proposed alterations to the area for the future. Overall, the maps highlight significant changes to the infrastructure, with new facilities and road systems planned for the future.
One of the most prominent changes is the expansion of the main road, which will be transformed into a dual carriageway encircling the town center. Another notable transformation is the redevelopment of the shops in the northern section into new facilities, such as a bus station, a shopping center, and a car park.
In terms of residential developments, additional housing units are planned to be constructed adjacent to the newly expanded road. While the park has been reduced in size, the school located in the southern corner remains entirely unchanged.
Furthermore, a pedestrian-only pavement will replace the section of the main road through the centre, effectively separating the remaining shops from the newly developed facilities.
