The exhibited maps illustrate the alterations that took place in the structure of the town of Harton between 2008 and 2016.
Overall, this area has experienced several significant modifications, particularly with regard to the addition of some facilities at the expense of other sections.
In terms of the northwestern area of the river, the residential area located at the northwest corner of the town remained unchanged, while the derelict warehouses which used to be situated next to the eastern side of the residential area in 2008 were demolished to make way for the car park in 2016. On the other hand, the old town which was positioned next to the southern side of the derelict warehouses in 2008 was destroyed to make way for offices and a university in 2016, whereas the school located below the old town in the map stayed unchanged. In contrast, the arts centre which used to be situated next to the western side of the school in 2008 was knocked down to make way for the new multi-screen cinema, while the other residential area which was positioned in the farthest”> north in the northwestern region of the town in 2008 was demolished to make way for the shopping centre.
Regarding the southeastern region of the river, the industrial complex located in the north was expanded, replacing a significant part of the northeastern woodland and the remaining residential area situated farthest to the south of the village. Finally, the lake where the river sprang from was drained and reduced to a pond.
