Looking at the two maps, it is evident that the island changed dramatically over the twenty-year period. There was a great deal of development, particularly in the southern part of the island, while some of the original features remained unchanged.
A motorway was constructed through the centre of the island, separating the existing farmland from a newly developed area. A hotel and a skyscraper were built nearby, and the residential area was considerably expanded. In contrast, the church and the pond remained in their original locations and appear to have been unaffected by the development.
There were also several new developments in the northern part of the island. A football stadium was constructed behind the hills, while a large hospital, accompanied by a car park, was added in the east. Meanwhile, some original features were retained, including the windmill and the bridge to the east of the hills.
Overall, the island underwent significant development over the twenty-year period, with new transport, residential and public facilities being introduced in both the northern and southern areas. Despite these changes, several existing features, such as the church, pond, windmill and bridge, remained intact.
