The maps illustrate how the base level of a library altered from 2001 to 2009 due to a redevelopment. Overall, the most striking modification is the increase in types of books and the facility development.
To begin with, the fiction area at the end of the floor was demolished to make space for children’s books in 2009. Below that location, the library also established an area for children. Furthermore, there were 8 separated tables divided into 4 areas in the middle of the library in 2001. However, they were then modified to 4 long parallel tables. To the right of the tables were initially shelves containing newspapers and periodicals, which then placed films and DVDs. Computers were also established below those shelves to serve the readers.
In 2001, the bookshelves on the left of the ground floor comprised only two types of book, which was history and self-help. However, the library’s collection was extended to cover six kinds of books in 2009. They were law, economics, kitchen, self-help, fiction and history, from the top to the bottom. Moreover, there were not any modifications to the entrance, librarian’s desk and stairs in the bottom of the floor.
