Overall , by2013 the museum had undergone considerable expansion and modernization while maintaining its core structure .However the introduction of new facilities come at the expanse of previously greener environment .
In 2010 , the museum had a simpler and more straightforward layout with far main areas . Entrance was provided through a lobby near to the ticket desk which offered direct access to other sections .Adjacent to the ticket desk was dinosaur hall ,accessible from the upper side of the lobby . The southern part of the museum was largely occupied by the ocean hall to the east and the mammal section to the west . Outside a garden featuring several trees was located to the east of the main building.
By 2013,the museum had undergone significant changes , with layout revealing extensive developments while the dinosaur hall ,ocean hall and lobby retained their original location a new Ice age exhibition which included a insect section was introduced leading to the revolution of the mammals section .However , it was the east side of the museum that experienced the most sustainable change with a Human Origins display centrally located .The mammals section was mowed to the south of it , while a shop and café positioned on the opposite .These new facilities replaced the garden ,which had previously occupied this area.
