The given maps illustrate the state of Huntingdon as it is now and its future plan for innovation in the future.
Overall, the town will go through significant changes in the future, the most notable changes are the enhanced road system and the introduction of industrial estate.
Regarding the traffic infrastructure in Huntingdon, there are currently 4 main roads in use for transportation: A1, A14, Brampton Road and Ring Road. As of now the Ring Road is situated around the town centre, intercepting with the Brampton Road near the west of the town. The A14 crosses from northwest to southeast and the A1 runs from north to south at the far west of the town, forming a junction with the Brampton Road and a roundabout with the A14 on the north west. In the future, however, the A14 will be reconstructed into two parts: one will link with the Ring Road and the southwest part of the A1 road; the other will form a roundabout with the Brampton Road next to the railway station of the town. The junction between the Brampton Road and the A1 road will also be removed.
Regarding the new appearance of the upcoming industrial estate, it will replace the current airfield situated in the north of the town. Moreover, there will be roadways linked to it to make transportation more convenient. Other than that, the built-up area of the town will remain unchanged.
