The maps illustrate the current layout of Huntingdon and its anticipated changes in the future.
Overall, the area is planned to undergo substantial redevelopment, the most prominent being the enhancement of traffic infrastructure and the construction of a new industrial estate.
In terms of the road systems, Huntingdon currently has an intersection between the A1 and A14 roads, meeting at a roundabout on the outskirts of the town. The A14 travels across the town from the northwest to the southeast, while the A1 runs from north to south at the western side of the map. The northern section of A1 is connected with a small road leading to Airfield, which will be demolished to make room for a new industrial zone. Meanwhile, the other section connects to Brampton Road, forming a T-junction. This southern portion of A1 currently serves as the main access route to the town area, which is located in the eastern section and encircled by the Ring Road. In order to improve accessibility to this central precinct, a new roundabout will be constructed, linking the A14 with Brampton Road and the Ring Road. Additionally, a new road will be built at the southern stretch of A1 to connect it with A14, providing further access to the centrall area and the former T-junction will be removed.
Surrounding the town center is a built-up area with housses and shops that cater to local residents. The town also has a railway line running north to south, with a station located to the west of the center. In the future, the proposed extension of the rail line will connect the existing system to the newly developed industrial zone, enhancing transport links within the town.
