The two maps compare the layout of Huntingdon city now and a proposed layout in the future. Overall, the city is expected to undergo considerable transformation , becoming more industrial and accessible with additional roads and new areas.
In the present day, the northwest part of the city is currently an airfield that connects to a highway (A1) and Brampton Road. However, this area will be converted into an industrial estate. Additionally, the A1 road will be reduces in size, and a new road (A14) will be added to link with A1. Another notable feature is the construction of a roundabout, which will improve the convenience of travel between the railway station and the town center.
In the east part of the town, there is currently a town center and a built-up area around the Ring Road, both of which will still remain in the future. The A14 will be expanded and connected to the Ring Road, providing more direct access to the town center.
