Overall, the city has become fully urbanised, accompanied by a tenfold increase in population. The most notable changes include the substantial expansion of residential areas and significant improvements to the road network, alongside developments in public and commercial infrastructure.
At the beginning of the period, the city had a population of only 20,000, whereas this figure has now risen to 200,000. In 1950, residential housing was confined to the northern part of the city and occupied a relatively small area. By contrast, housing has since spread in all directions and now accounts for a large proportion of the total land area. Additionally, there was originally a single river flowing from west to east, which was later dammed to form two large lakes.
Further developments can be observed in the expansion of the business district and the airport, while a new government building has been constructed in the southern area of the city. At the same time, the transportation network has been extensively upgraded, with the addition of new main roads and bridges linking different parts of the city.
