The two maps illustrate how a city has developed since 1950, when its population was 20,000, to the present day, when it has increased tenfold to 200,000.
Overall, the city has undergone significant urban expansion, with the business district and residential areas enlarging considerably. In addition, new infrastructure such as lakes, bridges, a dam, and an extended road network have been introduced to support the growing population.
In 1950, the city was much smaller, with a compact business district surrounded by a limited residential area. A river flowed across the city, crossed by a single bridge, and the airport was located to the east.
Currently, the business district has expanded and is now divided by two artificial lakes connected to the river, ending at a dam in the east. The residential area has extended around the lakes, and new bridges have been constructed to improve access between districts. A government building has been established to the south, while the airport has been upgraded to accommodate the city’s development. Moreover, a new main road has been added, linking all key zones efficiently.
