The map makes an overview of the detailed changings in interior of Istanbul City Library throughout 26 years period between 2000 and now.Overall,although some blocks didn’t change at all,some of the books’s location has changed significantly,especially should I emphasize the gradual downturn of fictional books’s role,books of this exact genre clearly showed a noticeable fall.
As it can be seen,the bookshelf of fiction genre gave its profound part to four blocks of such genres as:”Art”,”Hobbies”,”Non-Fiction” and “Cookery” as well,however it’s clear that the fiction had still partly preserved its place.Speaking of complete changes,as bookshelves of such genres as:”Art”,”Hobbies”,”Cookery” and “Non-fiction” took “Fiction”s place they were replaced by small cafe,which is made up of a few elements which particularly are three tables with chairs and the cafe itself.
Additionally,there are some blocks of specific books that haven’t changed at all,these blocks include such books as:”Travel” and “New genres”.Next to them there’s “Service desk” that saved the same tendency.
