The two given maps below illustrate the development of Shebdon railway station between 1998 and the present day. Overall, it is clear that the railway station has dramatically changed over time.
Looking at the map in 1998, the facilities were simple. There were four old platforms on the right side of the map. In addition, the coffee shop, souvenir shop, and ticket office were located below the railway. Moreover, there were toilets for both men and women in the centre of the station.
At the present day, the facilities have significantly improved. The old platforms have remained the same, but the extra platforms have been built in the right corner. What is more, the toilets have been demolished and replaced with two shops, and a restaurant. On the left side of the map, a supermarket has been built. Furthermore, the ticket office has been extended to the right of the railway station, and the cafe next to it has not changed.
