The maps illustrate the current outline of Southside shopping mall and the proposed plan for its development.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that shopping mall will have more open layout, allowing more stores and having a greater focus on fashion at the expense of eateries and space for activities.
The current project comprises leisure activities such as cinemas, department store, a noodle shop and café with play area for children and toilet facilities. To the east of the center, there is a golf course that backs on to a park, while to the south, there is a fitness center and a carpark opposite to the mall entrance.
The most notable difference is that the new proposed project will comprise various fashion boutiques and shoe stores, beauty salon and info center which are not included in the present layout. The most significant development will be the extension of the mall in an easterly side, where it will overtake the land previously occupied by the golf course and park. The only things that will remain unchanged are supermarket, toilets and entrance, although changes will also include one more entrance on the left side of the mall. These improvements aimed at fostering financial income of the mall in general and providing better facilities for local people.
