Overall, it can be seen that there was an upward trend in Italy, UK, and Poland meanwhile, in Spain and Norway percentage decreased significantly. However, Finland was the only one to be remained unchanged.
In 2000, Italy’s 38% of youth were studying at universities and by the end of 2007, it rose by 14 percentage points and reached 52% overall.Likewise, In Poland the proportion increased from 64% to 78%. In 2000 and 2007, respectively. UK witnessed an increase as well, in 2000 it was 46% and it gained 8 percentage points and by the end of 2007 it was 54%.
Spain on the other hand, encountered a decrease and it fell by 5 percentage points. From 46% in 2000 to 41% in 2007. Similarly, Norway witnessed a downfall as well, but it was rather insignificant and it fell to 65% from 66% in two different periods. However Finland did not face any alterations in proportion and remained still at 70%
