The graphic below describes the many steps in the fabric production process. The method reveals how plastic bottles can be recycled into apparel.
Overall, producing garments from recycled materials involves plastic bottles undergoing various stages. There are three main processes, particularly in the collection and distribution of bottles, the preparation of plastic pieces, and the magnification of clothes.
At the beginning of the process, used plastic bottles with various shapes and colors are gathered before being loaded onto the truck and delivered to the recycling facilities. Then, at the factories, plastic bottles are shredded into minuscule pieces by a plastic cutter after being sorted out. After that, they are put in a washer to clean up.
Making clothes continues with drying these pieces in the sun for 10 hours. In the next stage, once the plastic pieces are dry, they go through a boiling machine before being strained into flexible yarn. Following this, the yarns are woven by a weaving machine, which is rolled into several units in the next step. Finally, they are used to produce clothes that are ready to be sold to consumers.
