The diagram shows the process of recycling plastic goods into clothing. Overall, the process consists of thirteen main steps, beginning with transporting plastic bottles and ending with making clothes from the recycled material. Additionally, it is evident that recycling is a man-made, linear process that is carried out using machinery rather than by hand.
In the first step, bottles of all sizes are collected and brought to manufacture by truck to the factory. Bottles are then put through sorting lines and shredders, where they are chopped into small pieces. These fragments are subsequently washed in order to eliminate parasites. Following this, the clean plastic pieces are dried for approximately ten hours.
In the next phase, the dried plastic is boiled at high temperatures and then strained to produce a refined material. This substance is produced into yarn, which serves as the raw material for clothe production. The yarn is then woven into fabric using industrial machinery. After weaving, the material is rolled into large bundles and finally manufactured into clothing items.
