The diagram illustrates the production process of clothes made from recycled plastic bottles.
Overall, the plan is divided into three main stages: collection of bottles from rubbish bins, preparation of bottles into proper raw material, and the production stage itself. It is also clear that this process employs both labour and capital intensive production.
Initial steps of producing clothes is manually gathering adequate amount of plastic bottles from all sorts of sources — usually garbage containers — and sending them over to a recycling centre to sort the rubbish.
After all of the garbage is sorted, and only applicable bottles are left, they are compressed into blocks and are crushed into small bits between two metal gears. The crushed result is then washed for hygienic purposes and then are sent over to a machine to turn them into pellets.
The pellets are heated, and after some time, they are ready to be formed into raw materials, which end up being all sorts of things: shirts, bags, pencils.
