The given diagram illustrates how green coffee is produced.
Overall, this is a cyclical process with 3 main stages, starting with green coffee being roasted and ending with drying green coffee.
The process starts with the collected green coffee being roasted before being ground by a special machine. Subsequently, the ground coffee undergoes an extraction process, resulting in coffee liquor and coffee byproduct. While the liquor is dried to produce instant coffee, the byproduct is treated by enzymatic treatment in order to break down complex carbohydrates into simpler sugars.
The next step takes place in a filter unit where the product of the previous step – liquid with solid matter undergoes a filtration, transforming into pure liquid. Finally, the liquid is soaked before being dried to produce green coffee.
