The pie chart illustrates the water consumption in different categories, while the bar chart demonstrates a range of household purposes including bathroom, toilet, washing clothes, kitchen and garden in Australia in residential water use.
Overall, it is clear that houses and apartments used most of the water in this country. Looking closer to the residential water usage in 2004, an appreciable amount of water was used in the bathroom and garden with over 25 per cent.
As for the pie chart, residential use, including houses and apartments, held a lion’s share of the overall consumption, accounting for 70 percent, which is far larger than industrial ( 11%) and business (10%). Government and other uses only accounted for a small proposition of water with 6 per cent and 3 per cent.
Regarding the bar chart, water consumed for bathrooms and gardens was the highest. There was only one- percent-different between these figures. The figure for laundry in 2004 was 20 percent, which is five-percent higher than that for toilets. The amount of water used in the kitchen was the smallest in this country, only 10 percent of the residential water use.
