The pie chart depicts the share of visitors to four different types of tourist attractions in the United Kingdom in two years.
Comparing the amount of visitors in 1981 to 1991 the absolute number has significantly raised up by more than 40% and reached 41.5 million visitors in the latter. Museums and Galleries is the most popular spot type among tourists demonstrating a sharp drop in percentage from 48% to 38%. Conversely, Theme Parks has an increase in the share up to 37% keeping the second position across two years and almost reaching the leader. At the same time, the category “Historical Houses and Monuments” remains stable in both years, while Wildlife Parks and Zoos shows a trend of hosting more visitors, increasing its share up to 9%.
To sum up, the distribution of attendees by groups slightly changes in two years with more interest to outdoor activities such as Theme Parks, Wildlife Parks and Zoos.
