The pie charts illustrate the percentages of students who are distributed based on gender and major in a particular college in the year 2020.
Overall, the woman students were more than the man students. In addition, Engineering was the most popular major among males; the opposite was true for females in the business subject. It was also clear that the distribution of women students in six different majors was more even than that of men.
Regarding gender, in 2020, 52% students in the university were females, which was slightly higher than the percentage of males (48%), indicating that educational opportunities were almost equal for both genders.
For the men, 40% students chose engineering to learn, as high as twice that of business (20%). Arts and humanities, and science have the same proportion, 15% for each major, while the remaining 10% was divided evenly between education and “other”.
By contrast, only 10% female students learned engineering, showing that engineering was less attractive for females than for males (40%). The proportion of females who studied business was 25%, slightly higher than that of arts and humanities (20%). The proportions of male and female students in science and education between men and women were the same, 15% for each major. Additionally, the percentage of females who studied “other” was 15%, demonstrating that the distribution of majors for women was more varied than that of males.
